If you are an anime fan, you must have heard the word ‘Loli‘ many times. Nowadays, the prevalence of the word loli has increased and many people have heard of this term.
In this article I will write the literal meaning of the word ‘Loli‘. Because the commonly known meaning of the word contains inaccuracies and omissions.
What Does Loli Mean?
Today, the word is used to refer to young female anime characters who have a childlike, innocent and cute appearance.
If the character is 1000 years old, but has the appearance of a child, is cute, and acts like a child, that character is loli.
We can see cute and energetic loli characters in many commercials, manga and anime these days but we will see more in the future, because they add a fun and lively atmosphere to the shows.
There’s plenty of fanart, hentai animes, and ecchi animes where the loli characters are sexualized. But the word does not mean the sexualization of young female characters.
Is it normal for lolis to be sexualized?
There are two different opinions on this matter:
The first is the notion that this is pedophilia and should not be legal.
The second is the notion that are only virtual and that virtual and real are distinguishable and different.
One of the arguments of people advocating second thought;
Killing people is a crime and it’s bad, but playing a killing game is legal and normal, fact and fiction are not the same thing.
In the past, there were many people who thought that games involving killing, violence, and weapons would have bad consequences, but these were just delusions.
